The Harrington Genealogy Association - www.harringtons.org

About the Association - History

This group seeks to further the genealogical information on the Harrington and related surnames (Herrington, Harington, Herndon, etc.) through cooperative exchanges of information. The main core of the association is the mailing list, which had over 140 people on it at last count (August 1998). Another major project of the organization is the Gedcom Database, which was created by combining the individual databases of many of the members into one large database. Since many of the different lines link up, this provides a much more comprehensive database than any single one would be.

In addition, this web site houses some anecdotes and miscellaneous bits of material the researchers have been collecting over the years. You are, of course, more than welcome to add to this grab bag.

These pages are currently being updates and enhanced. I expect to be finished with this by the first of the new year. So please be patient! If you find a broken link, a misspelling, or anything else that seems "wrong" and you don't think I already know about it, please let me know so I can fix it as soon as I can.
On Spellings
Please note that while the name is spelled "Harrington" throughout this site, it is not suggested that this is the only spelling (or even the right spelling.) The name is also spelled "Herrington" and "Harington." All Harringtons/Herringtons/Haringtons are equally welcome (and likely related.)
