Hi everyone,
Just to give some warning, my old Caltech account (where the original
mailing list and web site were located) are going to disappear at the
end of the month. The only thing this will affect is the Gedcom database
(the online Harrgene family tree thing.) Once the account is deleted
the links to this database will go dead and it will no longer be
accessable.
Not to panic, though, I've been expecting this for a year now and have
all of the information backed up. Soon I'll have the database up and
running on the genealogy.org site and I'll put a few more capabilities and
features in it. I'm in the middle of finding a new place to live, but
once I've settled in then this will be on the top of my priority list.
While I'm writing about the Gedcom database, let me ask one other
question. I know that a lot of people wish to submit their Gedcoms to
the database, but I don't have enough time or patience to collect them
and merge them together into a single database again. Would anyone else
be willing to do this? If not then I'll just use the old database.
